I saw this somewhere in my social media scrolling. Then I had a conversation that brought me right back to this. And I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Read that again: A mother who unapologetically takes care of her own needs teaches her children that it’s safe and important to take care of their needs too.

Did you have a lightbulb moment? I hope you did! We spend so much time being busy. And somehow “BUSY” has become a badge of honor.

☕️A friend invites you to grab lunch…I’m sorry. I can’t. I’m busy.

❤️Your husband wants to take you on a date night…Sorry, honey. The kids have X-Y-Z. We’re busy.

💅🏻Mani/Pedi? Nope, too busy.

I get it. I truly do. There’s so much to do and get done. And there is a limited amount of hours in every day. So we stay “busy” to get it all done.

But at what cost? Our physical health? Our emotional and mental health? Teaching our kids that “busy” takes precedence over our own emotional/physical well being?

Isn’t it okay to be un-busy and take a few moments for ourselves? Recharge your battery and you’ll find that you have more to give. It’s a cliche we’ve all heard: Self care isn’t selfish. But do you truly believe that? I find that most people don’t. They think taking care of their own needs means they are neglecting something or someone. That is simply not true.

So what if we use our self care as a teaching tool? What if we show our kids that taking care of yourself is just as important as piano lessons, homework, sports practice, etc?

What if we teach them by example? Maybe even include them in our self care? How wonderful would that be?!

I love the ease that Posh has brought to my self care. I don’t have to carve hours out of my day/week for self care. I find small acts of self care through out my day, every day. Posh products are naturally based and not full of fillers, so I feel good about what I’m putting on my skin. And with my current skincare routine (which is a huge part of my daily self care and takes all of 2 minutes), my skin looks better than it ever has.

💕Apply a face mask while you run the vacuum, fold a load of laundry or do some dishes.

💕Have your kiddo use your favorite hand creme to give you and hand massage. Then do the same for them.

💕Fill your shower with soaps, body washes, and scrubs that smell good, feel good and turn your daily shower into a spa experience.

💕Find a small way to move and stretch your body every day.

I hope I’ve given you some inspiration (maybe even permission) to focus on your own self care. Take a look at the products offered by Posh. I promise you’ll find something to love! And don’t hesitate to contact to me to ask questions. I’m great at making recommendations! Now, go do something just for you!💕
